The project aims to experimentally develop an embarkable kit for the inspection and exploration of subway environments under construction, such as mining galleries, tunnels under construction and hydroelectric galleries, as well as for rescue and emergency situations such as fires, to complement mobile robotic solutions that can operate autonomously.
The result will be a solution that works in conditions of low visibility and without connectivity, using mobile robots equipped with artificial intelligence that will also perform security functions, detecting people and machinery in their environment. The project represents a technological scientific breakthrough in terms of building a solution that is capable of operating in very hostile environmental conditions, where there is a concentration of suspended particles, terrain variability, unpredictability, irregularity of the massifs and lack of reliable and secure communications. All these factors hinder the experimental development of mobile robotic systems in other controlled environments, as well as the implementation of intelligence in the process.
The solution will be validated in real environments and will improve efficiency and reduce accidents in the construction of subway environments or in rescue or emergency situations.
