PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The Sovereign Digital Identity (SDI) brings to the table a revolutionary and innovative proposal to offer individuals control over their digital persona and has the potential to solve problems, drawbacks and challenges presented by today’s identification, authentication and authorization systems, both face-to-face and electronic, related to regulation and standards, technology and security. To this end, this model combines two innovative technologies: digital wallets and decentralized information registries.

The digitalization of machinery is already a reality, although there is still a long way to go in terms of application development and the generation of new business models. At the heart of this analysis would be, for example, the development of a sovereign digital identity for industrial machines, an extrapolation of the aforementioned digital identity of individuals.

The IDMACHINERY project is structured in two mutually complementary phases that obey the same common main objective: the development of a sovereign digital identity model with Blockchain/DLT technology for industrial machinery.

In order to achieve the main objective mentioned above, the following specific objectives are proposed:

  • Investigate how DLT/Blockchain technologies can serve to provide a digital identity to industrial machinery.
  • Analyze the digital identity model of machinery from different points of view (business, security, technology, legal).
  • Design the main technological components (standards and protocols) represented in the digital identity of industrial machinery.
  • Design a minimum functional proof of concept that allows for experimentation and
technological validation of the designed scheme in a laboratory or simulated environment.
  • Conduct pilots for the implementation of the proposed digital identity model solution with different use cases.
  • Develop a standard to make it easier for manufacturers to adapt the digital identity.
  • Define and develop a proof of concept of a digital identity platform and validate it with pilots of different types of industrial machinery: machine tools, agricultural machinery and construction machinery.
  • Develop a plan for the economic and social exploitation of project results.
