BigDataQ

01.- NAME OF THE PROJECT

BigDataQ – Application of Big Data technologies Analytics to improve quality, stability and process capability.

02.- SUMMARY

Use of 4.0 technologies for the analysis and subsequent implementation of solutions applied to the improvement of the painting process to improve quality, stability and process capability in an automotive company.

03.- GENERAL DATA

  • Description: call for proposals to support innovative business clusters for 2018
  • File number: AEI-010500-2018-140
  • Date of grant: 12/13/2018
  • Date of execution: 15/9/2018 TO 31/3/2019

04.- INFORMATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT AND ITS OBJECTIVES

The The main objective is to analyze the technological feasibility of the application of the Data Analytics technologies and in special Machine Learning for the improvement in industrial processes that can be made from various points of view. and exploitation of information in the information systems of the company. production. Currently, there are different Data Analytics and BigData technologies available that enable the generation of knowledge in the industrial field and involve a new revolution in decision support tools.

Initially The body painting process is considered as a use case. It will cover to look for the relationships between the parameters of the painting process and the defects found in the car bodies (quality) through the application of the Data Analytics and Machine Learning techniques to establish relationships that allow predicting what kind of defects may arise due to variations in the process as well as to analyze the feasibility of implementing reactive actions to correct the process by analyzing the data in time real.

The process parameters may come from a variety of current data sources (stations, cabins, vision systems…) and possible new data sources: IoT sensors (temperature, humidity, etc.), new data logging, etc.

For To achieve this objective, the following specific objectives are proposed:

  • Identify sources of information about the painting process, with the different lines and equipment, with relevant information of the process.
  • Identify quality characteristics that are (or may be) measured in the process and that have (or may have) a relationship with the operating parameters of the cabinets paint.
  • Exploration of the information available to search for patterns detectable from historical data available.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement through knowledge-based process improvement in the information available.
  • Settle the basis for the generation of projects for the exploitation of information in the production systems for the improvement of process capability by means of the implementation of technologies related to Big Data Analytics.
  • Spread the word the opportunities for process improvement and the methodology and results of this project to the rest of the CAAR companies.

Like The evaluation and assessment of these specific objectives will be carried out as a result of the analysis of the technological feasibility of Big data and Systems technologies. Cognitive for the prediction of failures in painting processes.

Thus, the fulfillment of the objectives of this project, in which new technologies are analyzed Data Analytics and Big Data technologies, will enable the definition of new applications with three main objectives oriented to reinforce the competitiveness of the Aragonese automotive industrial sector, the raison d’être of CAAR:

  • Increase value added and employment (in quantity and quality) in regional industry.
  • Please visit the adaptation of the Aragonese model for the industry of the future by developing a offer of technological solutions.
  • Develop differential competitive levers beyond labor cost for to promote the Aragonese automotive industry and boost its exports.
