AUTOMAQ

01.- NAME OF THE PROJECT

AUTOMAQ – Feasibility study of 4.0 technologies for the robotization of mobile machinery.

02.- SUMMARY

This The project aims to advance in the automation of construction processes in order to through the robotization of the machinery, focusing the work on the group. of mobile machines as it has been considered one of the most susceptible groups of mobile machines. to be robotized, at least in their function of moving around the environment. constructive.

04.- INFORMATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT AND ITS OBJECTIVES

This study is conceived with a Construction 4.0 approach, that is, within a new paradigm that defends that the construction sites, the works, should be considered as the as manufacturing environments, where the advances can be applied in the production process. technological and operational issues related to the Connected Industry.

Construction 4.0 is a paradigm shift. Beyond the issue Construction 4.0 is based on a novel premise in which the construction sites are are seen as productive factories in which products are “manufactured”. (buildings, roads, tunnels…) by means of productive means (machinery) and through organized methods (projects). This factory vision brings us closer to the industrialization of the construction industry, and thus, to be able to incorporate technologies that are already leading relevant innovations in other industries of the more productive conception, such as that of the automobile. In summary, the construction 4.0 is to conceptualize construction as a manufacturing industry, and to assimilate for the sector the precepts of Industry 4.0.

From a technological perspective, one of the revolutions will come with the automation of construction processes through the robotization of construction machinery. Among the whole spectrum of machines that coexist on a construction site, mobile machinery is one of the groups most susceptible to being robotized, at least in its function of moving around the construction environment.

As an example, Table 1 shows three of the main construction processes and their respective mobile machines that can be robotized in such a way that they are autonomous in their translation and integrate the automation of some of their functions, for example, the gunite spraying as a robotized boom.

Figure 1 – Main processes and mobile machines that can be robotized.

The main expected outcome of the study will be a Report technology for the robotization of mobile construction machinery that will will include, among other contents, a road map of innovation projects technology in construction machinery.
