RETECH TURISMO SPAIN LIVING LAB (SLL): Open Innovation Ecosystem for AI in Tourism

Spain Living Lab proposes to create an innovative ecosystem, of immediate value to the sector, thanks to the development of a Data Space, as well as the promotion and development oftwo highly disruptive ArtificialIntelligence missions.
These missions will be achieved through the development of different projects, based on disruptive AI and the Living Labs methodology for the capture of differential data.
Project Phases:
– Creation of Living Labs that allow the development of industrial research and the capture of differential data.
– Data Space for AI and Innovation in Tourism and implement use cases for its application in the sector.
– R&D projects to solve major challenges of tourism transformation based on behavioral AI: 2 trans-regional R&D missions.
The strategic objectives pursued by this RETECH project are as follows:
– To lead the development of tourism-related AI worldwide.
– Transform the economic model of tourism into a model based on intelligence.
– Strengthening business competitiveness through AI.
– Improve training and employment in the sector thanks to AI.
– Generate an open, competitive and virtuous innovation ecosystem for AI in Tourism and Behavior.
The Regional Phases corresponding to the Aragon proposal are as follows:
– Phase 1: 14 nature and snow tourism Living Labs
– Phase 2: Nature Tourism Data and AI platform and implementation of two use cases.
– Phase 3: Creation of AI associated with tourist behavior and intelligent management of nature and snow tourism.
TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF ARAGON (ITA)
TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET: 1.200.000€.
TOTAL PROJECT GRANT: 900,000 €.
This action is co-financed under the Retech Tourism-Spain Living Lab Agreement: 75% by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, framed within the “RECOVERY, TRANSFORMATION AND RESILIENCE PLAN – FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION – NEXTGENERATIONEU” and the rest is co-financed by funds from the Autonomous Community of Aragon.
Expenditures allocated to MRR projects are financed at a rate of 100%.
