RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW WOOD PARTICLEBOARD CONFIGURATIONS BASED ON RECYCLED MATERIAL FROM FORESTRY, AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL SOURCES WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES

PROJECT TITLE:

“RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW WOOD PARTICLEBOARD CONFIGURATIONS BASED ON RECYCLED MATERIAL FROM FORESTRY, AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL SOURCES AND WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES.”

GENERAL DATA:

Program: CIRCULAR ECONOMY R+D+i DGA
Ref. No.: EC-10-2021
RESOLUTION Date: 11/30/2021
Execution date: 2021-30/09/2023

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

FINSA intends to deepen and intensify its commitment to the circular economy through this project, whose main objective is the incorporation into its production processes of a new type of raw material based on the use of industrial waste such as wood from second and subsequent uses, and agricultural and forestry waste for the manufacture of wood panels.
In order to modify the composition of conventional raw materials, there are a large number of scientific and technological challenges that need to be solved. The development of the project will make it possible to acquire new knowledge related to their manufacturing techniques and the base materials of which they are composed. The results will prove key to creating a new particleboard with a smaller environmental footprint and improved functional properties. Achieving this objective will also serve to deploy a series of advanced manufacturing technologies that will contribute to improving the efficiency and circularity of FINSA’s products and manufacturing processes.
