RAMP AWARE

Development of a robust and economically effective system for to detect and avoid collisions of the equipment that supports the aircraft on the ground.

The main objective of the Ramp-Aware project is to develop a novel technique for detecting the location of the equipment ground support equipment (GSE) in relation to the aircraft, thanks to the which can detect and prevent possible collisions. This system to be installed in the GSEs will significantly reduce the number of costly accidents between these vehicles and aircraft. This method The new detection system combines the spatial detection feature with the radar and an inertial navigation system. Using these technologies the GSEs can be detected in relation to any part of the of the aircraft being serviced. Detection with The radar is achieved by means of an aperture radar synthetic and innovative ADS-B technology. The control of the GSEs is through the inertial navigation system and sensor nodes. intelligent wireless. All information generated by the system is transmitted through a graphical interface to the drivers of the GSEs to assist them during their operations.
