04 Technical information on the project and objectives:
The main objective of the The project consists of the search for alternatives that will make it possible to achieve that the recycled papers have levels of flexibility, extensibility, TEA, and similar to those of non-recycled fiber kraft papers, while maintaining, however, the resistance properties that characterize the Saica’s current paper liners, mainly in terms of compression. This would make it possible to compete, especially for high paperboard weights, with the current kraft paper liners.
A second objective would be to focused on the use of the results obtained in the manufacture of a paper suitable for paper bags.
This aspect is important because
it is foreseeable that the current regulations concerning plastic bags will change
in the next few years, and it is expected that by 2020 the sale of
light and fragmentable plastic bags, with the exception of those produced by the
with compostable material.
The project will study and research 4 lines of action
and that according to the bibliography reviewed and the
knowledge of the participants presents a high level of technological novelty
mainly due to the use of recovered cellulose as raw material.
In parallel to these lines of the study will be carried out on the basis of the performance of such fiber modifications and their relationship to the basic structure of paper recycling, in such a way that the knowledge acquired allows optimizing the treatments performed.
