This project, in cooperation between the company AIRTEX and ITAINNOVA, arises in the current context of the automotive sector motivated by the development of electric vehicles, connected and autonomous vehicles, and demand for integrated mobility. This electrification has implications for component manufacturers, both from the point of view of the development of new electrical power system components and the introduction of technologies for electrification, lightening, energy efficiency, thermal management, comfort, etc. Therefore, the present project addresses the research on technologies of electrical/electronic actuation and regulation systems for their implementation in automotive auxiliary systems, mainly pumps and distribution elements of cooling and fluid management systems, for a sustainable mobility. The objectives are as follows:
-Improve the company’s competitiveness (increasing sales volume and market share, new Tier1/OEM customers, new products and new technologies applied to cooling systems and other vehicle fluids.
-To promote the development of adjustable, efficient and intelligent systems.
-Improving the sustainability of automotive systems and components.
These objectives will be achieved through research in technologies, methodologies and tools for the design and development of electric/electronic actuation and regulation systems (mainly electric motors and solenoid valves) for their subsequent integration in pumps and valves of cooling and fluid management systems, This will allow the development of adjustable, efficient and intelligent systems, leading to more sustainable mobility, improving thermal management in the vehicle (engine and battery cooling, passenger compartment climate control), increasing the performance and useful life of critical components and, thus, improving the sustainability of the complete automotive systems.
