Autonomous navigation solution for industrial machines in distribution centers

01.- NAME OF THE PROJECT

Autonomous navigation solution for industrial machines in distribution centers.

02.- SUMMARY

Today, robotic technologies applied to autonomous vehicle navigation have just begun to be implemented in the logistics operations of warehouses and distribution centers. Such technologies would give companies greater control over their processes, while providing them with greater flexibility. The ability to adapt to change is especially relevant in the current scenario, where there is an increasing trend towards business models such as ecommerce.

It is proposed to develop a set of software elements that make up an autonomous navigation system for indoor machines to solve the problems of localization, obstacle detection and avoidance, as well as trajectory planning. Such a set is intended to be tested by using a virtual model of the machine and the working environment.

04.- INFORMATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT AND ITS OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the present project is to design and implement a set of methods and algorithms to govern the motion of an autonomous machine in the field of operations. logistics A review of the existing systems and technologies in the market will be carried out and a design will be made according to the company’s needs. The algorithms developed in the project will be applicable to other machines with similar tasks in the field of warehouse logistics and distribution centers, and the feasibility of the design will be tested using a simulator for robotic systems.

On the other In line with the fundamentals of Industry 4.0, converting a conventional machine into a stand-alone machine generally involves the that such a machine will be connected and sharing information with the the rest of the process, allowing for a greater degree of control, as well as access to more information on the status of the production environment.

It is proposed to a robust machine design process, in which, by means of the various activities to collect expectations, define the objectives of the project, and specifications and conceptual design involving subject matter experts, design that responds to the needs and is technically feasible. achievable.
