AUTODUMP

General project data

  • Description: AUTODUMP_CHALLENGES COLLABORATION.
  • File number: RTC-2015-1099-4.
  • Date granted: .
  • Dates of execution: .

Presentation and objectives

The objective of this project is to design and develop a new robotization kit capable of transforming a conventional dumper into a self-propelled and autonomous mobile robot, that is capable of reaching the excavation face without intervention and then wait to be loaded, and lastly, transport the debris generated at the excavation face to the exterior of the tunnel.

Participating entities

This requires the joint work of all the companies that make up the Consortium:

  • VIAS y CONSTRUCCIONES (as project leader). A company with extensive national and international experience in the actively participating in all stages of tunnel construction. necessary for the definition of technical specifications, analysis of the the requirements of the different systems and components, as well as the development of the field validation tests, which will be carried out in a tunnel in a state of execution.
  • Aragon Institute of Technology (ITAINNOVA). Technological Center with extensive experience in the development of systems mechanical, electrical, electronic and automation systems, as well as comprehensive knowledge in mobile robotics. You will be responsible for the design implementation and manufacturing of the elements of the kit. In addition ITAINNOVA will collaborate with the rest of the partners in the development of the algorithms and the application of the appropriate techniques to achieve the autonomous driving of the vehicle.
  • ANMOPYC. As an industry association, it will contribute its machine safety expert status in order to be able to assume with guarantees the security-related challenges of the project in such a way that the project’s solution of all the necessary guarantees to be able to use the vehicles correctly. In addition, thanks to his knowledge of international construction machinery markets ensures that the project has a clear international focus
  • UNIVERSITY OF ZARAGOZA. Through a group specialized in robotics, will be in charge of the design of the system of communications, as well as the tasks related to the self-localization in tunnels. In this way, it brings to the project its experience in robotic research and experimentation in the robotic field. confined environments.
