Advanced Technologies and Digitalisation for Climate Action in Agro-Forestry and Blue Economy

The FOCAL European Clustering Event will bring together European research projects, public authorities, companies, and innovation actors working on climate change mitigation and adaptation through digital technologies, climate services, and data-driven solutions.

Organised within the framework of the FOCAL Horizon Europe project, the event aims to create a collaborative space where related initiatives can exchange knowledge, identify synergies, and explore opportunities for joint development and impact.

Over three days, participants will engage in:

  • Strategic discussions on European policy priorities and digital innovation for climate resilience
  • Technical exchanges on digital twins, climate services, and agro-forestry data solutions
  • Clustering workshops designed to identify common challenges, interoperability needs, and collaboration opportunities among EU projects and initiatives
  • Poster sessions and networking activities to showcase project and initiatives advances and facilitate new partnerships
  • A field visit to pilot sites in Aragón, connecting digital innovation with real-world forest and rural management practices

The event is intended for European research projects, technology providers, SMEs, policymakers, regional authorities, and stakeholders working on climate resilience, forest management, digitalisation, and environmental monitoring.

By fostering collaboration across initiatives, the Clustering Event aims to strengthen the European ecosystem of climate innovation, accelerate knowledge transfer, and support the development of scalable solutions for climate adaptation and sustainable land management.

Join the European Climate Innovation Community

We invite researchers, companies, public institutions, and innovation actors to take part in this collaborative event and contribute to building stronger connections across the European climate and digitalisation ecosystem.

AGENDA

Objective: To set a shared strategic and technical context for the Clustering Event by presenting the state of the art in digital twins, climate services, and agri-forestry data, showcasing successful EU pilots and living labs, and aligning policy, industry, and research perspectives to prepare the ground for cross-project synergies.

Objective: To enable sister projects to exchange experiences, identify common needs and challenges, and define concrete mechanisms for collaboration, clustering, and knowledge sharing beyond the event.

Objective of the day:
To observe and discuss real pilot implementations in the Aragón region, linking project outcomes and digital solutions with on-the-ground forest and rural management practices, and exploring their relevance and transferability at EU level.

Note:
This day is an optional programme day within the Clustering Event.
