PULIBOT

Project title:

PULIBOT Development of a collaborative robotic system for automation. of the parts polishing process

General Data: (Call/program/ reference/ concession date/ execution date)

Call: Order of August 1, 2018, by which the call corresponding to 2018 of the aid established for the support of innovative business clusters in order to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises is made.

REFERENCIA: AEI-010500-2018-148

Execution: The project has been developed between September 10, 2018 and March 31, 2019

Date granted: 13/12/2018

Presentation and objectives:

This project is the result of the cooperation between the AEI ASOCIACIÓN AERONÁUTICA ARAGONESA, hereinafter AERA, the entity COMPOSITES ARAGÓN, S.L. (hereinafter, CA) and the entity Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (hereinafter ITAINNOVA), has the following general objectives to acquire the necessary knowledge to develop a collaborative robot for automated polishing of metal parts, including Composites Aragón in the new paradigm of industry 4.0.

It is part of the line of Development of Innovative Activities in cooperation for activities of experimental development. Although the introduction of collaborative robots has In the last few years, the industry as a whole has been rapid in the last few years. developed and validated any that are capable of achieving the technical requirements involved in the polishing of metal parts with the quality requirements.

This project is within the framework of the thematic priorities defined in the Connected Industry 4.0, specifically in line 3 MANUFACTURING PROCESSES c. ADVANCED ROBOTICS

As a result of the project will develop and implement a collaborative robot with polishing application in the aeronautical sector. The project will seek to gather information necessary for a robot adapted for this purpose, to be able to perform the polishing activity that traditionally had to be a manual job. At the same time time it will contribute to the digital transformation of a process that was previously manual. For this purpose, both the hardware and the driver software will have to be adapted. of the robot to the task at hand.

Developments to be carried out are aligned with the Strategic Plan of the AEI and with the objectives of the AEI. and trends in the industry, both national and international, as well as in the as well as at the European level, with a boost to industrial digitalization, focusing the impact on SMEs (Connected Industry 4.0 Strategy).

Based on the objectives that the project, various aspects will be strengthened that will have a significant impact on direct impact on improving the competitiveness of the cluster companies, specifically to SMEs, which will enable them to improve their competitiveness thanks to a reduction in manufacturing times, as well as cost reductions in and better training of staff for their adaptation to the new technologies. new technologies.

But the impact of the project has its greatest repercussion on the customers as it will allow their competitive improvement thanks to the increase in the quality of the parts delivered, due to the reduction in the occurrence of dimensional errors, not obtaining precise tolerances, etc. It will also indirectly improve customer-supplier communication by eliminating customer nonconformities, thus making the flow of information more dynamic.
