INTRAP

General project data

  • Description: INTRAP – Intelligent paper manufacturing ensuring raw material traceability in an Industry 4.0 environment.
  • Docket number: RTC-2016-4632-5 .
  • Date of grant: 12/13/2016.07
  • Dates of execution: 01/04/2016 31/12/2018.

Presentation and objectives

The main objective of the project is the development of a traceability model for the analysis and control of the quality of the raw material that is used for pulper blending, in order to improve the properties and characteristics of the final paper. Key aspects to consider within the proposal could be:

  • Real-time adaptive control of the paper manufacturing formula to optimize quality and reduce costs.
  • Traceability of the bales from the origin to the paper formation process.
  • Inventory management, procurement and geolocation of inventory in the field.
  • Cognitive information capture systems for decision making in manufacturing.
  • Social impact by ensuring the origin of the paper and opening new fields of application for paper, such as in the food industry.
  • Optimizing the paper manufacturing processes makes it possible to reduce the cost costs, reusing more recycled materials, achieving a more sustainable world. sustainable.

The novelty and objective of this development is based on the generation of a traceability system capable of controlling incoming raw materials, and to accurately estimate the qualities that will be The information on incoming bales is used by recording the information on incoming in the mix (quality, origin, storage times, etc.). This information will be analyzed and related to properties (SCT), through the development of new simulation algorithms.
