PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The national clusters representing construction machinery (ANMOPYC) and machine tools (AFM), together with the Aragonese agricultural machinery cluster (CAMPAG) are leading an initiative to lay the foundations for the digital identification of industrial machinery using Blockchain/DLT technologies.

The IDMACHINERY project is structured in two mutually complementary phases that obey the same common main objective: “the development of a sovereign digital identity model with Blockchain/DLT technology for industrial machinery”.

Phase I of the IDMACHINERY project was presented in the 2021 call under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan called by Order of October 9, 2021, being approved with file number: AEI-010500-2021b-195 and receiving funding to develop the actions contemplated for this first phase between November 2021 and August 2022. The result of this first phase consisted of a proof of concept of the digital identity model for different types of industrial machines.

In this Phase II of the IDMACHINERY project, we will work on continuing the path of the developments of the previous phase, by executing the task of standardization of digital identity for machines, focused from both a conceptual and technical point of view and is intended to serve for the development of guidance documents for the AEI and its associated companies in terms of adoption of the digital identity model. Another set of activities to be carried out are the definition and development of a proof of concept Digital Identity platform with which AEIs can pilot with Blockchain technology. To this end, the platform will be integrated with the Smart Contracts associated with all the pilots so that they can be executed jointly on the same Blockchain digital identity network.

In summary, the main milestones to be achieved in the project are as follows:

  • Design the main technological components (standards and protocols) represented in the digital identity of industrial machinery.
  • Design a minimum functional proof of concept that allows experimentation and technological validation of the designed scheme in a laboratory or simulated environment.
  • Conduct pilots for the implementation of the proposed digital identity model solution with different use cases.
  • Develop a standard to make it easier for manufacturers to adapt the digital identity.
  • Define and develop a proof of concept of a digital identity platform and validate it with pilots of different types of industrial machinery: machine tools, agricultural machinery and construction machinery.
  • Develop a plan for the economic and social exploitation of project results.
