GIA 20-22: IODIDE

PROJECT TITLE:

RESEARCH GROUPS 2020-2022: IODIDE – INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BIG DATA AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS: Development of energetically sustainable systems and processes based on Artificial Intelligence and Electrical Systems.

GENERAL DATA:

Program: GIA 20-22
Part number: T17_20R
Date RESOLUTION: 08/27/2021
Date of execution: 01/01/2020-31/10/2022

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The IODIDE group intends to continue developing its technological activity through the use of data, Artificial Intelligence and electrification to improve the energy efficiency of systems, their connectivity and the use of massive data for the development of new services and components. This activity has been, is and will be full of global challenges towards the sustainability of technological development. Throughout its development path, the IODIDE group has, over the years, pursued a clear direction, that set by the global agenda for sustainable development (Agenda 2030). These objectives, applied to industry, transport and science, require innovation and technological development of power systems and data-driven systems that meet European, national and regional agendas.
The IODIDE group has a holistic/multidisciplinary approach and focuses its activity on two complementary lines of research:
– Energy sustainable electrical systems and EMC
– Data-oriented Artificial Intelligence.

The first sub-line is aimed at the design and development of efficient, low-noise electrical and electronic systems based on energy storage systems for complex environments.
The second sub-line aims to develop data processing solutions, supported by Artificial Intelligence, generating knowledge in real time to solve business problems.
In addition to these objectives of each sub-line, there is an additional common one that cross-cut these lines and gives rise to their merger, which is the improvement of the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems through the use of Big Data and computational models.
The group also aims at finding innovative solutions in different industrial and scientific sectors, in which the application of new electrical and ICT technologies can enable them to overcome the technological challenges they face and make a significant qualitative leap in the added value of their products and processes, with the consequent improvement of their competitiveness in the international market.
