FIBCEM

The Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) participates in the project. European FIBCEM that is investigating the creation of a sandwich panel based on a nanotechnology-enhanced cement, which reduces the footprint of the cement and carbon that is currently left behind by fibrocement.

FIBCEM is going to achieve through Nanotechnology the manufacturing of a sandwich consisting of a foamed core consisting of cement with foaming agents and fiber-reinforced skins. This material will be used for the creation of construction applications.

This is a project included in the 7th Framework Program of the European Union. (FP7), which aims to replace existing materials with new ones. others using “green nanotechnology”.

Ten partners are participating in the FIBCEM research project. In particular, it includes representation from academia, educational institutions and applied research and industrial research. Four partners are commercial enterprises, three are research and development organizations and three are three universities.
The partners combine knowledge and experience, with the purpose of The company has also developed the production process of this material. The range of skills, competences, facilities and equipment required to successfully implement this project are not available in one single Member State and therefore the consortium is transnational and covers the the whole of the
