This project is the result of the cooperation between the ARAGONESE AERONAUTICS ASSOCIATION, hereinafter AERA, the ARAGON AUTOMOTIVE CLUSTER AEI, and the entities ALOT METAL, S.L., GALAGAR WELDING, S.L. and the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (hereinafter ITAINNOVA), and its general objective is to generate a digital twin of manufacturing processes based on focused energy deposition for metallic materials oriented to analyze manufacturing feasibility, determine optimal parameters and estimate quality indicators of manufactured parts.
The main objective of this project is to generate knowledge of the process in order to relate the process variables (speed, temperature, amount of input material, deposition trajectories, …) with quality standards and environmental criteria to meet the major challenge defined by the European Green Pact to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent on the planet by the year 2050: reduction of energy consumption associated with other production processes, reduction of raw material consumption, intrinsic recyclability of the metallic materials used.
Specifically, the main focus of the project is to study the variability of the quality of the product manufactured by selective metal deposition on a substrate as a function of the process variables. To this end, a research project combining various digitization techniques, combined with experimental research at the laboratory level, is proposed.
