BIOCONECTICA

PROJECT TITLE:

Bioconectica : robotic, sustainable and connected manufacturing of reagents for in-vitro diagnostic tests.

GENERAL DATA:

Program: support grants for Innovative Business Groupings to improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized companies and the call for applications for the year 2022, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Referencia: AEI-010500-2022b-179
RESOLUTION Date: 11/23/2022
Execution date: 30/06/2022-29/04/2023.

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The objective of the Bioconectica project is to optimize the manufacturing and distribution processes of reagents and in-vitro diagnostic kits of the participating companies, to consolidate the strong growth and competitive improvement registered by these companies and by the biotechnology sector as a whole as a result of the needs arising from the covid-19 pandemic, as well as to guarantee their resilience to potential similar threats that may arise in the future.
In particular, the project aims to have a significant impact on the participating companies, which represent the different links in the value chain associated with the biotechnology sector, with the following specific objectives:
Automation of the manufacture and distribution of reagents and in-vitro diagnostic kits through the implementation of state-of-the-art specialized robots.
-The development of a digital integration solution between supplier (BDR as manufacturer) and customer to ensure the quality and correct traceability of products and the resolution of problems related to logistical and production aspects in real time.
-Energy optimization and minimization of the environmental impact of new manufacturing and logistics processes.
The development of a multi-purpose and multi-product production model, so that BDR can offer its services to other manufacturers when producing reagents and diagnostic kits. The aim is to generate a knock-on effect on the region’s biotechnology sector as a whole, strengthening its capacity and resilience in the face of possible health threats.
