The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program, funded by the U.S. Department of State (USA), aims to promote the development of entrepreneurial projects led by women. It has been implemented in more than 80 countries around the world and 7,000 women have participated so far.
The AWE program offers participating entrepreneurs a combination of master classes as well as intensive DreamBuilder virtual training provided by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Business in the United States. The objective of this business training is to support the development and growth of a business or entrepreneurial project and to enhance entrepreneurial skills.
The U.S. Consulate General in Barcelona, in alliance with Foment del Treball Nacional de Cataluña and the Government of Aragon, promoted this program between May and July in Catalonia and Aragon.
On the part of the Government of Aragon, the program is jointly promoted by the LAAAB (Laboratory of the General Directorate of Open Government and Social Innovation) and the Technological Institute of Aragon (ITAINNOVA).
