PROJECT TITLE:

METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS FOR THE VIRTUAL VALIDATION OF THE AUTONOMOUS STREETCAR.

GENERAL DATA:

Program_ Call: Public-private collaboration projects, of the State Program to Promote Scientific-Technical Research and its Transfer, of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2021-2023, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
Part number: CPP2021-008594
RESOLUTION Date: 12/28/2022
Execution date: 01/04/2022 – 31/03/202

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

Urban mobility is undergoing a paradigm shift. The high concentration of population in cities, the awareness of climate change and carbon footprint, the development of technology and communications, and progress in terms of safety are driving the transformation of mobility in search of ecological, efficient, safe and quality solutions. The greenest high-capacity urban mobility solution is the tramway. Now the challenge is to provide this solution with digital technology and secure communications to achieve the autonomous streetcar.

The AUTOTRAM project addresses the development of 3D modeling and simulation methodologies and tools to validate new safe absolute positioning systems and train the industry in the virtual validation of the autonomous streetcar.
