The objective of the BLADE2CIRC project is to develop sustainable alternative solutions for wind turbine blades by increasing the percentage of bio-based composite materials (using carbon fiber and bio-based dynamic resins). From these constituents, the project focuses on the development of high performance materials that are also highly recyclable.
Within BLADE2CIRC, ITA is involved in the development of new coatings with self-healing properties and adhesives with the ability to facilitate disassembly. In addition, ITA is leading the work package dedicated to the development of simulation models and safety, sustainability and circularity.
