PRESENTACIÓN Y OBJETIVOS:

El proyecto FOREMAST responde a la necesidad de una logística más limpia mediante el desarrollo de embarcaciones prototipo automatizadas, pequeñas, flexibles y de cero emisiones, conocidas como ‘SFAZ’. Estas embarcaciones, que se crearán en el marco del proyecto, buscan transformar la logística urbana y costera, reduciendo la congestión vial, disminuyendo las emisiones y mejorando la accesibilidad.

Las soluciones de FOREMAST se desarrollarán y validarán en tres Laboratorios Vivos (Living Labs, LLs) regionales, utilizando embarcaciones experimentales existentes. Se establecerán dos LLs físicos en regiones urbanas costeras e interiores con alta congestión —Gante (Bélgica) y Caen (Francia)— para guiar, probar y demostrar las soluciones FOREMAST a través de prototipos SFAZ integrados en Terminales Inteligentes Automatizados dentro de redes logísticas optimizadas. Un tercer LL, de carácter virtual, en la región de Galati (Rumanía), se empleará para demostrar la capacidad de replicar estas soluciones.

En el proyecto FOREMAST, ITA lidera el desarrollo de un modelo virtual conectado a simulaciones de tráfico de embarcaciones inteligentes basadas en inteligencia artificial. Al integrar datos en tiempo real de las embarcaciones y de la infraestructura, este modelo apoya la toma de decisiones sobre el cambio modal del transporte por carretera a la navegación interior (IWT). Esto permite identificar las condiciones en las que dicho cambio mejora la eficiencia operativa, reduce el impacto ambiental y favorece la integración de la navegación interior en las cadenas logísticas multimodales.
