{"id":41786,"date":"2025-10-30T11:28:50","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T10:28:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/proyecto\/titan\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T13:19:03","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T12:19:03","slug":"titan","status":"publish","type":"proyecto","link":"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/en\/project\/titan\/","title":{"rendered":"TITAN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-titulo-del-proyecto\">TITLE OF THE PROJECT:<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>TITAN<\/strong>: Trusted envIronments for confidenTiAl compuTiNg and secure data sharing<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-datos-generales\">GENERAL DATA:<\/h2>\n\n<p>Program: HORIZONTE EUROPE EU<br\/>Reference: 101129822<br\/>Date of RESOLUTION: 10\/23\/2023<br\/>Date of execution: 02\/01\/2024-31\/01\/2027<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-presentacion-y-objetivos\">PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong>TITAN<\/strong> project aims to advance secure data exchange through a modular platform based on <strong>Trusted<\/strong> <strong>Execution<\/strong> Environments <strong>(TEEs)<\/strong> and <strong>Confidential Computing<\/strong> <strong>.<\/strong> It is oriented to the processing of sensitive data in areas such as <strong>healthcare<\/strong> and <strong>public administration<\/strong>, ensuring interoperability with <strong>EOSC<\/strong> standards.<br\/><strong>TITAN <\/strong>addresses the legal, ethical and technical challenges of cross-border data sharing by integrating <strong>blockchain-based access control, data anonymization through GANs and federated data quality frameworks.<\/strong><br\/>The platform enables secure artificial intelligence and <strong>machine learning (AI\/ML) <\/strong>collaboration <strong>through federated learning and confidential multi-party computation, <\/strong>leveraging TEEs to train models while preserving privacy. In addition, TITAN develops tools for <g id=\"gid_3\">lifecycle management, remote attestation and confidential GPU support<\/g>, enabling secure analytics in the cloud.<br\/>Trust management follows a <g id=\"gid_4\">Zero Trust<\/g> architecture, using <g id=\"gid_5\">Verifiable Credentials, Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Distributed Logging Technologies (DLTs)<\/g> for identity management and access control. <g id=\"gid_6\">Smart contracts<\/g> executed within TEEs enhance privacy and compliance with regulations such as<g id=\"gid_7\"> GDPR.<\/g><br\/>TITAN also promotes privacy-preserving audits using <g id=\"gid_8\">blockchain Hyperledger <\/g>and supports<g id=\"gid_9\">semantic interoperability <\/g>for search and federated data sharing. The project combines state-of-the-art cryptographic techniques, secure infrastructure and policy analytics to enable legal, scalable and reliable data collaboration across institutions and borders.<br\/>In the 36-month project, ITA collaborates with SARGA and the Veneto Region (Italy) on sharing crowdsourced data for ML-based modeling by reducing the risk of sharing. More specifically, this use case aims to use Federated Learning (FL) for the creation and improvement of phenology and pest risk prediction models in vineyards.
