As indicated \nin the latest study conducted by MCKinsey&amp;Company published in \nApril 2016, &#8220;Reengineering construction equipment: from operations \nfocused to customer centric&#8221;, one of the most important trends of \nfuture in the global sector of public works and\n construction machine manufacturers is the generation of <em>aftermarket<\/em> services for \nend users and distributors. In this area, one of the \nproblems with the greatest impact on the operations of end users \nis the maintenance of the machinery on the worksites to ensure the\n correct functioning of the machines during operation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \npublic works, construction and mining machinery market is a global \nmarket and companies, regardless of size, \nneed to develop more innovative and higher quality products and services \nand bring them to market ahead of their competitors to be \nsuccessful in today&#8217;s challenging economic conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This \nproject addresses the analysis and selection of the most appropriate technologies\n to generate innovative predictive maintenance services at \nglobal level by Spanish manufacturers of construction machinery\n and public works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Innovative Business Clusters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This\n project has received a grant under the \nprogram to support Innovative Business Groups (AEIs). This \nprogram to support the strengthening of innovation clusters is \ninserted in the European strategy to improve competitiveness for the \ninnovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nThe clusters that can benefit from the program&#8217;s\n grants are those entities whose innovative potential and critical mass \nhave been recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (MINECO) through their registration\n in the Register of Innovative Business Clusters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-objetivos-del-proyecto\">Project objectives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\n          <strong>Technical information on the project and its objectives:<\/strong>\n        <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n objective of this project is the definition of a portfolio of projects \nof experimental development and innovation related to the creation of \na technological platform oriented to generate innovative services of \npredictive maintenance of construction and public works machinery at\n global level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n          <strong>Secondary objectives will include:<\/strong>\n        <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Capture\n of needs and problems to be solved in the field of maintenance\n of construction and public works machinery from the point of view \nof the manufacturer, the distributor and the end user of the machines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design\n conceptual of a predictive maintenance technology platform \nthat can respond to the needs of manufacturers, \ndistributors and end users of construction and public works machines \n.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Classification and assessment of the technologies of \nmonitoring of machinery (Monitoring), of communications \n(Telematics) and of big data for data analysis and failure prediction\n on machines at construction sites (Data Analytics).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development\n of business models for manufacturers of construction and public works machinery \nfor the provision and sale of services \npredictive maintenance through this technology platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generation\n of projects for the development and implementation of solutions for \npredictive maintenance that can be provided through after-sales services \nby manufacturers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-el-proyecto-incluye-los-siguientes-cinco-paquetes-de-trabajo\">The project includes the following five work packages:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Surveillance\n of Monitoring, Telematics and Data Analytics technologies \nfor the predictive maintenance of public works and construction machinery \n.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selection of the group\/s of machines with \nto work with. Definition and prioritization of problems and \nmaintenance needs of these machines. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conceptual design of a global predictive maintenance platform. Proof of concept.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of new business models based on predictive maintenance services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generation\n of a project portfolio for the development of this platform for \npredictive maintenance and dissemination actions.
