We promote a decarbonized and greener economy. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-problematica\">Problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-paragrafo-pequeno\">The <strong>decarbonization of the economy<\/strong> and the transition towards a <strong>sustainable energy model<\/strong> constitute one of the main global challenges to mitigate the effects of <strong>climate change<\/strong>. In this context, the Complementary Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Plan of Aragon responds to the need to develop technological solutions to replace <strong>fossil fuels<\/strong> with <strong>clean and renewable energies<\/strong>, especially in sectors that are <strong>difficult to electrify<\/strong>, such as <strong>intensive industry<\/strong> and <strong>heavy transport<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-paragrafo-pequeno\">Through collaboration between technology centers, universities and public entities, the project <strong>strengthens Aragon&#8217;s scientific and industrial capabilities<\/strong>, promoting an <strong>innovation ecosystem<\/strong> that contributes to environmental sustainability, economic competitiveness and the generation of qualified employment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-soluciones-tecnologicas-aplicadas\">Technological solutions applied<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the framework of the Complementary Plan, ITA has developed several energy solutions aimed at strengthening the green hydrogen value chain and its application in industrial and transport decarbonization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-azul-corporativo-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3afa22087a867ff97ca5f7e12f992b2a\" id=\"h-01-desarrollo-de-electrolizadores-de-oxido-solido\">01\/ Development of solid oxide electrolyzers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of ITA&#8217;s main lines of work is the development of solid oxide electrolyzers (SOEC) supported by advanced simulation tools. This type of electrolyzers represents an advanced technology that allows improving the efficiency in the production of renewable hydrogen at high temperatures.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-azul-corporativo-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0e786a9daf364d356740357ad5897f79\" id=\"h-02-gestion-de-electrolizadores-multistack\">02\/ Multistack electrolyzer management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ITA has also worked on the evaluation of the degradation and optimization of the management of multistack electrolyzers, in order to maximize their performance and durability.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-azul-corporativo-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-96e6f38ab6e450b96f0bc1ffce30c90d\" id=\"h-03-almacenamiento-de-hidrogeno-basado-en-composites\">03\/ Composite-based Hydrogen Storage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, it has addressed the design of hydrogen storage systems based on composite materials, studying solutions with integrated sensing and their manufacturing processes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-azul-corporativo-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0638eb846c4e13c90ee2ec2ca1e19171\" id=\"h-04-cabeza-tractora-impulsada-por-hidrogeno\">04\/ Hydrogen-powered tractor unit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the field of sustainable mobility, the institute has developed a hydrogen-powered tractor unit, conceived as a mobile laboratory for auxiliary components and control of hydrogen systems.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Plan Complementario del Hidr\u00f3geno, en Tercer Milenio del Heraldo\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dfn0Fj4b5vM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With all this, ITA has promoted the development of testing and validation infrastructures for hydrogen technologies, consolidating an advanced experimental environment that allows testing, characterization and verification of components and systems under real operating conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\r\n    <!-- block: caso-exito-banner -->\r\n            <section class=\"block-caso-exito-banner  la-sim-sec\">\r\n            <div class=\"row\">\r\n                <div class=\"stell-inner sim-process\">\r\n                    <div class=\"la-sim-img\">\r\n                                                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/EACC_mockup-portada-300x300.png\" alt=\"Aragon&#8217;s Complementary Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Plan\">\r\n                                            <\/div>\r\n                    <div class=\"la-sim-cnt\">\r\n                        <h4>The project has a great economic, technological and social impact, reinforcing regional industrial competitiveness and contributing to the decarbonization and sustainability objectives set by the Aragon Climate Change and Energy Strategy 2030.<\/h4>\r\n                    <\/div>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n        <\/section>\r\n        <!-- end block: caso-exito-banner -->\r\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-4 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-resultados\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has strengthened <strong>technological capabilities<\/strong> and <strong>hydrogen testing infrastructures<\/strong>, favoring the validation of advanced systems and the development of new prototypes. The project has strengthened the cooperation in the <strong>regional innovation ecosystem<\/strong> between ITA, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unizar.es\/\"><strong>University of Zaragoza<\/strong><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/hidrogenoaragon.org\/es\/\"><strong>Aragon Hydrogen Foundation<\/strong><\/a>generating a stable network of public-private collaboration that favors applied innovation and technology transfer.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has also contributed to<strong> position Aragon as a reference territory in green hydrogen<\/strong>, improving its national and international visibility within the framework of the energy transition.
