ITA\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sEMOQ_9tOcw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-problematica\">Problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavy transport is responsible for a large part of the <strong>gas emissions <\/strong>into the atmosphere due to its high demand for power, autonomy and <strong>intensive use<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>historical dependence on diesel <\/strong>has hindered the transition to <strong>cleaner<\/strong> alternatives, as <strong>heavy trucks <\/strong>require solutions that offer sufficient <strong>autonomy <\/strong>and <strong>operating times<\/strong> comparable to fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Battery electric trucks <\/strong>present significant limitations for long distances due to <strong>limited range <\/strong>and <strong>long charging times<\/strong>, as well as <strong>high <\/strong>battery <strong>mass <\/strong>that reduces their <strong>payload<\/strong>. Therefore, the introduction of hydrogen <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/blog\/hidrogeno-the-new-must\/\">hydrogen technology<\/a> <\/strong>can offer greater range and faster refueling. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-4 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-desarrollo-tecnologico-realizado\">Technological development carried out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The EH2T project is based on the conversion<em>(retrofitting<\/em>) of a commercial diesel tractor unit into a vehicle powered by hydrogen technologies. The technological development includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Integration of an electric motor <\/strong>that maintains the same performance as the original diesel engine, ensuring no loss of operating performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A power supply system <\/strong>structured on a <strong>high voltage bus<\/strong>, which receives power from two sources:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>140 kWh<\/strong> battery pack.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two <strong>PEM<\/strong> <strong>fuel cells <\/strong>, with a combined net power of <strong>170 kW.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The combination of both systems allows reaching a <strong>total power <\/strong>of approximately <strong>500 kW.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The fuel cells are supplied by two <strong>hydrogen tanks <\/strong>with a combined capacity of <strong>7 kg <\/strong>at <strong>350 bar pressure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The battery pack acts as a <strong>backup <\/strong>in times of <strong>high energy demand <\/strong>or to complement the dynamic response of the batteries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>range of the system<\/strong> is currently about <strong>60 km<\/strong>, determined solely by the amount of hydrogen stored on board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EH2T implements hydrogen technology in heavy transport with the vehicle&#8217;s zero-emissions commitment.
