For cost optimization in logistics processes, the focus must be on efficient resource planning, not only for external transports, but also for internal systems and the associated material flow logistics processes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla.jpg\" alt=\"Photograph of the forklift used in the project.\" class=\"wp-image-29300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla.jpg 432w, https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The CRV project is based on the <strong>development of a kit, consisting of on-board equipment and remote control and decision systems, based on robotic technologies and autonomous driving<\/strong>, to improve logistics processes in warehouses and distribution centers, allowing users to remotely and ubiquitously control forklifts or other machines. In addition to optimizing the time allocated to the human and material resources used, this system will increase safety standards and reduce the number of accidents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-style-columns-margen-estrecho is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-4 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The CRV project has led to the <strong>development of a prototype system for remote teleoperation and assisted driving <\/strong>that <strong>optimizes <\/strong>the time required by forklift operators for loading and unloading trucks in warehouses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-Equipamiento.jpg\" alt=\"Schematic showing the different sensors and controllers with which the forklift was equipped\" class=\"wp-image-29301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-Equipamiento.jpg 613w, https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-Equipamiento-283x300.jpg 283w, https:\/\/www.ita.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/ITA_Caso-Exito-CRV-Carretilla-Equipamiento-141x150.jpg 141w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The system consists of an individual &#8220;kit&#8221; that allows remote control of a forklift truck and a general management system that optimizes resource management by assigning tasks in real time to operators based on the operation and the general state of the environment. This system allows the connection of forklift operators to the different forklifts available in the warehouses in a transparent way, thus maximizing operations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, a remote teleoperation center has been developed in which forklift operators can connect to different forklifts, depending on the work demands of the moment, which means a significant improvement in the efficiency of their time distribution and resource management. In this way, operators have no downtime and can link tasks according to the demand of each warehouse.
